Rotterdam is, undoubtedly, one of the most vibrant cities in Europe, its modern architecture and the cool vibe of a truly multicultural city, makes it one of those places you really can’t miss. And we know the place you stay might make the whole difference when traveling, for that reason you should have in mind “ROOM Hostel” when visiting Netherlands’s second biggest city! One of the most welcoming and best located hostels, celebrating its 10th Anniversary this month!
Situated in one of the historical Art Deco buildings, dating back to 1923, it is just the perfect compromise between location, fun and a good night of rest! The hostel is run by travel lovers, knowing exactly what other visitors and backpackers need, from a good breakfast in the morning, a place to store your backpacks and a cool bar to enjoy some beers and meet some people.
There are 16 rooms, all of them with surprising decorative motives, such as the Art room. But you will be certainly impressed with the size of the place, a big bar, common living room with comfortable neobaroque chairs and sofas, if it is a place to have fun in the evening, you can certainly also take advantage of it to work during the day when it is quiet and chill.
Finally, ROOM hostel has a full week program of activities with games, parties, concerts, pasta nights and guided tours around Rotterdam every day!
All staff, management team, volunteers and even the lovely dog (Lexie) are super cool, they really help you going around the city and will suggest you some cool places to visit, have a drink or even dinner at a restaurant, like the Burgertrut. In case you need any info don’t hesitate in asking them, they will be ready to help you with a smile!
This is one of the biggest advantages of ROOM Hostel, you can easily walk down the big avenue right in front of the railway station, which will take you around 15 minutes, but on a straight line so you won’t lose your way.
You will also be fairly close to the city center, where all bars and cool architecture are, it won’t take you longer than 7 minutes. And also close to the Erasmus bridge, the skyline there is just amazing and really worth going for a walk next the river!
As the owners of the Hostel are also travelers, they really know what you need. You have access to the bar where in the mornings you can enjoy the typical continental breakfast for free, but you can also have lunch, dinner or a drink by night. There is also a guest kitchen, as you might guess sometimes it isn’t the most organised, but before complaining, you should keep in mind it really is important to wash your dishes after using them. The same way, remember writing your name on the food you keep on the fridge. All the rooms, bedclothes and common areas are clean everyday, that’s one of the things the Hostel cares the most about.
Depending on the season, prices will average between 15 euros on the 14 bed room and go up to 30 on the 4 beds. If you want to enjoy some privacy, the twin private will cost you around 57 euros. Whatever room you pay for, all other services as breakfast or towels are included. The hostel accepts credit cards and the reception is open 24 hours.
